📈 Betting & Odds
-
As the postseason began, the Philadelphia Phillies overtook the Dodgers as betting favorites, sitting at +425 odds to win it all. (MLB.com)
-
The Dodgers remain formidable — they’re still among the top draws in the futures market. (ESPN.com)
-
Other teams with notable futures odds: Seattle Mariners (~+450), Milwaukee Brewers (~+700–+800), Toronto Blue Jays, among others. (CBS Sports)
These odds reflect how sportsbooks and bettors see the field now — strong favorites and threats beyond just “the usual suspects.”
⚾ What’s Happening on the Field
-
In the NLCS, the Dodgers have jumped out to a 2–0 lead over the Brewers, powered by a dominant complete game pitching performance by Yoshinobu Yamamoto. (AP News)
-
The ALCS pits the Blue Jays vs. Mariners. Toronto handled the Yankees in the ALDS, while Seattle pulled off a dramatic win over the Tigers in a Game 5 to reach their first ALCS in decades. (Business Insider)
The path to the Fall Classic is narrowing fast. Teams’ pitching depth, bullpen strength, and momentum are becoming decisive.
🎯 My Prediction: Dodgers Rise to the Occasion
Why the Dodgers?
-
Momentum + Pitching – Yamamoto’s performance is exactly what you want in October: absolute control over a full game. That hints at the depth and composure of their rotation when it matters most. (AP News)
-
Experience in High-Leverage Games – They’re built for October: veterans, stars, and a roster accustomed to the pressure.
-
Futures & Betting Realignment – While the Phillies opened as favorites, markets have shifted and the Dodgers have reassumed strong favorability as the postseason advances. (New York Post)
So here’s the prediction I’ll stand by now:
2025 World Series Champion: Los Angeles Dodgers
I see them coming through the NLCS against Milwaukee and then matching up in the Fall Classic with maybe Seattle or Toronto — ultimately pulling it out in 6 or 7 games.
